You might ask … why? for two simple resons:

1) commercial ads on the iron home page
2) no automatic updates in iron

after reading about the true intention of srware iron (which basically is to make money with ads) and being annoyed by having to do the updates manually all the time, besides a considerable count of crashes that have been introduced over the last several months i finally dropped srware iron completely and installed chromium binary from the free open source mac user group instead (which includes automatic updates + binary release for initial setup):
